The Chamber welcomes a new President and a new name!

KAMLOOPS – Kate Stebbings, Trans Mountain Corporation, steps into the role of President of the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce.

Members of the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce gathered together in-person for the first time since March 2020 for the Chamber Summit, which consists of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Policy Session followed by An Evening With Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir and Mayor Ken Christian.

It was during its AGM and Policy Session that the Chamber welcomed incoming President, Kate Stebbings of Trans Mountain, and members voted in favour of an inclusive name change to officially become the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce.

“We see economic recovery on this side of the pandemic as opportunity and I look forward to working alongside the membership that we serve to not only rebuild our economy, but to build back an economy that is inclusive and accessible where all can prosper”, Kate Stebbings, Chamber Board President

“Inclusivity is one of our core values at the Chamber. We represent many businesses who wanted our name to be a reflection of the wide variety of members that we serve throughout the TNRD region” says Acacia Pangilinan, Executive Director for the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, the Chamber welcomed two new faces to its board, including: Michael Martens, Rocky Mountaineer and George Casimir, Community Futures Development Corporation of Central Interior First Nation and Outgoing President Dan Carroll awarded the President’s Award to Brant Hasanen, for his decades of service to the business community.

Pangilinan Adds, “collaboration is key for our region to prosper and grow, we are looking to our membership to bring fresh ideas forward that further endorse our region as a destination to do business”.

The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce originated in 1896 as the Inland Board of Trade, evolving many times overs 126-yearss.
