Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce Encourages Local Businesses to Share Insights on Rising Costs of Doing Business

Kamloops, BC – September 5, 2023 – The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the BC Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce an important initiative aimed at understanding and addressing the escalating costs of doing business in British Columbia. As a cornerstone of the Chambers’ commitment to the local business community, all businesses in the region are invited to participate in a survey focused on shedding light on the challenges posed by rising taxes, fees, benefit programs, and government regulations.

The economic landscape has seen a considerable transformation in recent years, with businesses across the province facing mounting pressures due to various cost factors. The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce recognizes the need for immediate action to mitigate these challenges, and in line with this vision, is launching a comprehensive survey to collect insights directly from business owners and decision-makers.

“As businesses navigate the currents of change, insights and perspectives from the business community become the compass guiding the Chamber forward. The Chamber remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. The Chamber network understands that the rising costs of doing business pose significant hurdles to growth and sustainability and is dedicated to working collaboratively to find effective solutions.” Acacia Pangilinan, Executive Director of the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce.

Taxes, fees, benefit programs, and government regulations collectively contribute to the financial burden that businesses face. This survey seeks to delve into these components, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their impact on local enterprises.

The survey, designed to take approximately 8 minutes to complete, will be open for responses from September 5 to September 15, 2023, until 4:00 PM PT. The chamber encourages all business owners and stakeholders to participate and share their valuable perspectives. The insights provided will enable the Chamber to advocate for reforms that address the challenges faced by local businesses effectively.
