Fast Facts About the Canadian National Railway

The Canadian National Railway was established in 1919 and has been an example of hard work and community service ever since. They provide a safe, reliable way to transport cargo across Canada, including the transportation of dangerous goods, and strive to make the communities they serve as safe as possible.

The Canadian National Railway provides a variety of services including rail transport, intermodal transport, trucking, and supply chain services to over a dozen industries. These include automotive, coal, fertilizer, food and beverages, and forest products. Shipping by rail is four times more fuel-efficient than just trucking alone.

The CNR offers temperature-controlled cargo, port partnerships, transloading and distribution, logistics parks, customs brokerage, and freight forwarding, among other services. Depending on which mode of transport you prefer, you can find exactly what you need for whatever goods you’re transporting. On their website, they offer specific examples of equipment available. No matter what you need, you can find out the specifics before you make your decision.

In addition to their transportation services, the CNR also has a business development program to help companies develop rail-served sites and expand existing ones. They will work with you by identifying sites, collaborating through the designing and construction phases of your project and coordinating their extensive network of partners to get the job done. The CNR’s Rail Ready Sites Program is an initiative that targets partners which have a high potential for development along the rail network and puts the building blocks in place to speed up the opening process and reduce overall risks through their partners.

No matter what your needs are related to the rails, the Canadian National Railway is there to ensure that you are in good hands.
