Celebrate and connect at the November Chamber Social with Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Business and Economic Development at 345 Chief Alex Thomas Way.

The Chamber Social is taking place in the C.L.C Assembly Hall. This is located through the main entrance on the 2nd floor of the Kamloops Indian Residential School (KIRS) Building. Unfortunately, the KIRS is not accessible for those with mobility issues. There are two small sets of stairs (approx.. 13 steps) leading into the venue. Washrooms are located nearby on the same floor – no stairs needed.

For those wondering about directions and parking, please see below for two maps.

In addition to the social, there are two opportunities to tour the Kamloops Indian Residential School. Tours are offered at $20 per person, please register separately at the links and more information below:

Tour #1 – Wednesday, November 1, 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Tour #2 – Thursday, November 2, 9:00am – 10:30am

The Kamloops Indian Residential School was operational from 1923 to 1978 and was once the largest residential school in Canada with over 500 students attending in the 1950’s. On this tour you will walk through the school building including the kitchen, dining hall, and sleeping quarters. The tour guides share historical photos and stories about what life was like for children who attended the school throughout the decades.

This tour is not accessible to people with mobility issues. There are 93 stairs in this tour, so please wear appropriate shoes.

Tour cost: $20/pp

Duration: 90 mins

Tours will start from the white tent, beside the monument, outside the residential school. Please arrive on time.
