Dan Carroll Appointed New Kamloops Chamber President

KAMLOOPS, BC –

Kicking off its 125th birthday, the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce does what it does best and debated policy at the Chamber Summit: AGM & Policy Session, where it also welcomed two new Board members and a new Chamber Board President.

Daniel Carroll, a Partner at Fulton & Co, was sworn in as the incoming Chamber Board President, saying, “Iam honoured to assume the role of President of the Kamloops Chamber. Our community has endured a challenging time, and as we near the end of the pandemic, I look forward to supporting Acacia, the Board, the Chamber team and our wonderful Members in working hard to ensure our whole community recovers and prospers.”

Rick Welch of NRB Modular Solutions and Phillip Stagg-Tanner of Acres Enterprises were also officially sworn in as new Chamber Board Members, taking a virtual Oath of Office alongside Mayor Ken Christian.

As the day progressed to the Policy Session, Chamber Board members presented the policies it has been working on to the business community to be discussed and debated. This year one provincial and two federal policies were discussed, including discussion around the establishing a First Nations Infrastructure Institute, unlocking the potential of nurses to increase access to primary healthcare and an inclusive tax policy that emulates a model championed by New Zealand.

Information regarding the 2021 Policy Manual can be found here.

Each policy was supported favourably this year by the Kamloops Chamber Members. The next step is to prepare relevant Provincial or Federal policies to be presented at the BC Chamber of Commerce AGM this upcoming May, where they will be debated amongst the 120+ Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade in British Columbia, representing over 36,000 businesses.
