A Better Place to Play at BCLC

The province of BC created the British Columbia Lottery Corporation 35 years ago with the express purpose of giving back to British Columbia and helping communities grow. Since then, thanks to their players, BCLC has been supporting communities, provincial programs and services, charities, and major events that have helped shape BC. They are responsible for supporting many local initiatives that have provided great benefit to the communities that created them.

BCLC has a massive community impact. Each year, local governments in BC that host a facility receive a 10 percent share of the net revenue those host facilities create. Last year, 32 host governments across the province received $93.5 million to fund local projects and initiatives. Some of those included connecting vulnerable people to social services and improving safety for residents; activating public spaces; and supporting climate change initiatives.

Without the players at their dozens of casinos, BCLC would never be able to support the communities and initiatives that it does. Whether you’re interested in playing one of their slot machines, trying your hand at an old-fashioned card game like poker or blackjack, or feeling lucky enough to give the lottery a try, there’s something for everyone to enjoy with BCLC. No matter how you play, you can rest easily knowing that your money is going towards any number of great causes.
